Ziel Zuster Takes the Stage

September 22, 2016

Ziel Zuster Takes the Stage at Cirque du Lake!

We were looking for something fun, original and dynamic with a touch of youthfulness to round out our musical entertainment at this year's annual Cirque du Lake Block Party and the first suggestion we got was a dead ringer, Ziel Zuster. You may have seen Ziel perform under his previous musical experiment, The Shape of Sounds, at local venues like Bears on Fairfield but under his newest project he has taken his work a step further. When asked about how the two projects compared Ziel says that most of the tracks on his first album, Wo Ai Ni, were just for fun while his newest tracks are confessionals detailing personal struggles. Ziel states, "Music allows me to process what I am feeling at the time and create something useful from it." Dressed in eccentric costumes and toying with colorful lighting, Ziel likes to create an atmosphere that fuels the sound of his music.

Ziel Zuster's fresh sound is created from scratch on stage by creating a live loop using a synthesizer and an old Yamaha keyboard. Blending assertive and emotional reverberated vocals over psyche-pop/synth music, Ziel composes his songs with the goal of creating a sound that describes his thoughts and feelings. His experimental sound is sure to entertain and keep you coming back for more.

When asked about playing at Cirque du Lake, Ziel says," I am honestly thrilled to be performing at an event that is open to such a large public. Shreveport needs some unity in the art/music scene, and I believe this event is a perfect step in the right direction." In honor of Cirque du Lake, Ziel Zuster will be performing a brand new song from a project he has been secretly working on with the multi-talented, Stephanie Fernandez. Stephanie is the acid-pop artist and fierce psychedelic/sfx makeup artist who most recently has graced the pages of The Shreveport Times and Heliopolis. Cirque du Lake will be your first chance to be swooned by her angelic vocals. While the project itself is still in the beginning stages and doesn't have a name yet, you won't want to miss this dynamic duo.
